Umami in a Cantan

A 150-seater Chinese bar house spread over two floors, Cantan serves up classic regional Chinese cuisine with a contemporary approach. A departure from the reds and obvious iconography of the Chinese restaurant stereotype, we gave it a vibe that is reminiscent of cosy Shanghai bars, with creative flourishes. Warm tones, the odd pop, an old black and white movie, the smell of tea mixed with jasmine, silk lamps with soft tassels coupled with the warmth of wooden tables and wallpapered walls create an intimate setting.
